New Councillor Confirmed Following By-Election Process
Following the resignation of two parish councillors, ten local government electors requested that the vacancies be filled through a by-election rather than by co-option.
The by-election attracted one candidate for the two available seats.
As only one valid nomination was received before the close of nominations, the election was uncontested and Tom Reynolds was duly elected as a Parish Councillor for Kingsley.
One of the two vacancies has therefore been filled and the remaining vacancy may now be filled by co-option in accordance with the relevant legislation.
The Council now has one newly elected member, one remaining vacancy arising from the recent by-election process, and three vacancies that existed prior to the by-election.
